This is a definite need. As others note, there are workarounds but they are really only effective with a small amount of data. Being able to easily export data (especially into a flat file format) is often requested by my users and would be a very welcomed enhancement!!!
Good suggestion Eric, thanks! If others think it’d be helpful, please add your votes!
Hi everyone. With the February release of Power BI Desktop we’ve released a Preview of this feature! You can add multiple fields to the slicer and use expand/collapse to drill through the values in the hierarchy.
We’d love to hear your feedback on it – please add comments to the thread here if there’s other things you’d like us to add.
Thanks again for voting and giving us feedback!
Great idea! We’d like to add more visualization types in the future, and the votes that this item receives will help us prioritize them.
We recently released the ability to export data from tiles and visuals to a CSV file. This may work for y’all as a workaround until we add the ability to directly copy and paste the visual or data. You can read more about it here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/powerbi/archive/2016/01/06/power-bi-service-update-0106.aspx#exportTile. Be sure to let us know what you think about the feature!
