Default tab order (aka Reading Order) based on Z reading pattern instead of order that visuals were initially added
This idea inspired by Meagen Longaria's fantastic interview at the following podcast: https://policyviz.com/podcast/episode-169-meagan-longoria/ When report devs don’t set the tab order of a PBI report (which is pretty much the default) then tabbing selects visuals in the order in which they w...
View (and possibly even edit) Measure code when hovering over them in the Values well
Wouldn't it be cool if you could see *and possibly even amend* a Measure simply by hovering or right-clicking over a measure used in a Values well in a visual. Why, this would save you having to go hunt for it in the Fields pane!
Drill Through (Preview) option should allow for transparent background when not activated grey
Let me use space (empty string) in column headers
Sometimes I need to pad out chart titles or column headers with a space or 10, and sometimes I don't want a column header at all at the top of a particular column e.g. when I am using the Bar Only option in databars to create databars that don't obscure text.
Dismiss tooltips by pushing ESC
Tooltips should be dismissable by the user in the event that they are blocking then view of the underlying visual...especially given report-page tooltips may get quite large. ESC would do nicely...although obviously the app would need to check if the dashboard is being displayed in fullscreen m...
Allow formatting of series in formatting pane even if display is suppressed via DAX
I often use DAX to dynamically show/hide series via a SWITCH function telling them to return BLANK () in response to a disconnected slicer. So not all measures in the visual's Measures pane series will be displayed at any one time. Unfortunately, #PowerBI only exposes formatting options for se...
Line chart Tool-Tip/Mouse-Over: Highlight a PARTICULAR series at EVERY x-axis point.
Currently tooltips for the native line-chart show/highlight the value of EVERY series at a PARTICULAR x-axis point But often you would prefer to instead highlight a PARTICULAR series at EVERY x-axis point. I would like a setting that allows Devs to choose between these two behaviours.
Add "Don't overlap value" option to databars (Conditional Formatting)
Currently, databars often obscure the very numbers they are there to support. In this age of social distancing, that's a little like me yelling in your face. Not cool. Please give us a "Don't overlap value" checkbox that enforces a gap between databars and the numbers they represent.
Allow No Fill for markers
Solid markers often soak up too much visual oxygen. Having a "No Fill" option for markers - as Excel allows - helps emphasise the points without drawing undue attention away from trends, and also allows for a kind of 'heatmap' effect when you have lots of points close to one another.
