additional font formatting (bold, italic, underline, etc)

Hi there, I was hoping that the Power BI team could consider bringing additional font formatting options into Power BI. So wherever there is an option to specify font size, colour and so forth, we should also be able to specify other options such as: * Bold * Italic * Underline * Strikeout Also I was wondering if it wouldn't be a good idea to allow users to highlight a specific part of a text to format it, instead of formatting the font for the entire object in question.

We introduced this functionality as of November 2021!

More Font Options in Visuals including styles: bold, italic etc.

Would be nice to be able to have more Font options for all visuals, including the font styles, bold, italic, etc.

Bolding of the filters pane headings for better and more immediate readability.

In the filters pane, please bold the headings of the filters (i.e, "Filters on this visual", Filters on this page", Filters on all pages").

Bold, Italic, Underline and Strikethrough on Conditional Formatting Tables and Matrix

As many ideas have been published here, but none was implemented in the way MANY of us want. I will try and make my appeal!

The idea is pretty simple, we want to be able to conditionally format specifc rows or columns with the following options: Bold, Italic, Underline and Strikethrough.

That would happen for a specific row header, specific row values, entire row, or the same logic applied to columns!

    Example:

    Products - Price - Quantity - Revenues

    A 2 3 6

    B 1 1 1

    C 5 5 25

    SubTotal1 x 9 32

    D 10 1 10

    E 3 5 15

    F 2 2 4

    SubTotal2 x 8 29

    Total x 17 61

We want to be able to conditional format the SubTotal1, SubTotal2 and Total entire row, or only header, or only values in Bold, Italic, Underline or Strikethrough!

    Sorry for terrible example.

clicking on a data point in a scatter chart should bold the data category

when you click on a bubble in a scatter chart, it should make the data category bold. that way you know exactly which data point you are clicking on (if there are many categories that are close together).

Bold specific values, Titles, Rows, Headers, conditional formats, etc.

    Ask:

Can we please get the ability to select something and "Control+B" to bold specific items? Preferably, bolding of particular rows in a data table.

    Background:

I work in a financial institution where most reporting is built with Excel pivot tables. My partners - accountants, financial analysts, credit officers, middle office managers, risk managers, senior leaders, and even executives care little about charts and graphs. They want to visually see the numbers and their aggregates in a formatted table that is automated in a dashboard on a site. Our data is primarily statements, balance sheets, and adjustments rolled into hierarchal, aggregated structures that tell the story across parent and child businesses and parent and child products. When an executive says they want to put their reporting in PowerBI or Tableau, WHAT THAT MEANS is they want to "Excel" with said BI tool that contains specific bolded rows, report filters, commentary, and even the ability to export them as a data table in Excel retaining the same formatting as in the dashboard. Below is an example of what I'm talking about, and come on, you can't tell me the first example looks as good as the second...

    Product Q1Val Q2Val Q3Val

    Prod1 $25 $26 $28

    subprod1 $10 $12 $14

    subprod2 $10 $12 $14

    subprod3 $5 $2 $0

    Prod2 $20 $18 $20

    subprod4 $10 $9 $10

    subprod5 $10 $9 $10

    Prod3 $25 $22 $23

    Total Product $70 $66 $68

    Product Q1Val Q2Val Q3Val

    Prod1 $25 $26 $28

    subprod1 $10 $12 $14

    subprod2 $10 $12 $14

    subprod3 $5 $2 $0

    Prod2 $20 $18 $20

    subprod4 $10 $9 $10

    subprod5 $10 $9 $10

    Prod3 $25 $22 $23

    Total Product $70 $66 $68

Suppose you bring more "Excel-like" table customization and formatting to PowerBI. In that case, I guarantee you will see a 20-30% increase in interested companies looking for a better way to create their current Excel reporting. You'll also better bridge that gap for conditioned to only seeing things in table visuals.

Extend DAX Format Function for colors

Extend Format Function to allow color in format code like in Excel. This would allow far more expressive conditional formatting in formulas. Take it a step further and add codes for bolding, italics and other formatting types. This would allow full flexibility in formatting of reports such as bolding certain rows, etc. Simple change - HUGE benefits! The finance community will thank you greatly! EXAMPLE: =FORMAT(1, "[[RED]] #") //formats number as red =FORMAT(1, "[[#ff0000]] #") //formats number as red (using hex code) =FORMAT(1, "[[RED;BOLD]] #") //formats number as red and bolds
