It's hard to convince colleagues to use Power BI in case they using linux. With a Linux version (ubuntu?) of the Power BI Desktop they would not need to install a VM or similar.

We are not considering bringing Power BI Desktop to Linux anytime soon; however, we do plan to bring more and more authoring capabilities from Power BI Desktop into the web experience.

POWER BI also for CentOS/RedHat Linux, not only for debian distros.

I am president of a consulting firm specialised in Business Intelligence and Data Science. We are strong supporters of PowerBI, but recently we had to promote Google Data Studio instead of powerBI for a client because of the lack of PowerBI desktop on linux despite the fact that Power BI was much more adapted for them. SQL server now runs on unix, I hope Power BI desktop will also soon.
