When selecting a field, in the "column tools" section of the Ribbon, most properties are immediately visible. However, the "Sort by column" button does not highlight when a field is being sorted by something other than itself. As this can have various implications, it would help if there was an indication from just selecting the field, instead of having to open the "Sort by column" each time to see what is applied.
