Now when we export data from matrix visual in PBI Desktop to an Excel file - the 'Total' row does not get exported to Excel though that is visible in PBI Desktop. Please fix it.

I am using Direct Query per client needs/request. Only one table is used for this instance. There are NO other tables or relationships.

I have 3 visuals on the screen:

A Slicer so the user can specify a date range, a Card to display the count of rows, and the Table visual to allow the user to see and export the data.

The data being exported is missing data (rows).

The count as displayed in the Card visual is correct (verified using SQL Server Management Studio).

The total rows for this scenario is 8,172.

When I export to CSV, the total row count is 8,155.

This data is need for reporting requirements per federal regulations.

It really needs to be accurate...and consistent.

I recommended the client use Power BI instead of Tableau.

I agree, this is very disappointing this it not out of the box. I understand theory they want PBI to be an end product and not use excel however they really don't understand how users need to use the data and this results in significant manual work to copy totals. Defeats efficiencies that it is meant to promote. Many of our users refuse to use PBI because of this silly issue and are using competitor tools until it is fixed. It also currently can't do anywhere near as easily or quickly what can be done in excel or with as much control. Until PBI can provide better flexibility and ease of use, people will stay on excel and it won't replace it.

Please add this functionality, end users are always having some reasons like this to hate or adjust to PBI
