The ability to configure a slicer to only be able to select one attribute at a time - similar to a radio button. I would like to disable the ability for people to either choose select all or choose multiple slicers.

Hi everyone! The slicer now supports a radio button mode too, with real single-select behaviour. You'll see updated options in the property pane that let you control this. Thanks for your patience and feedback!

Done in the March 2019 Update (2.65.5313.501). Shame it took 3 years from the raising of this idea ;-)

I hope this will include a feature that make it possible to have a slicer which forces the user to always have at least one value selected, otherwise the filter will show all values at the same time as an aggregate (sum, average...) , which for most applications makes no sense/ looks terrible.

Like the features of chiclet slicer, forced selection and Selection Disable feature. should be good enough.

It was very nice if we can set a value by default in Slicer. For example current year.
Also it was very nice to switch between a single select and multi-select kind of thing in that control

can it include a forced selection which is not hard-coded but defaults to the first in the list or something similar. for RLS situations I dont know which values will be available to a user but I want one of them to always be selected.

This is sooooo important:
Please include an option to force exactly one selection. Enforcing a maximum or one value gets us half way there, but there are times when content only makes sense if a slicer value is selected. Enforcing exactly one selection is definitely needed.
