Add the ability to edit interactions from the 'Selection' pane (or a separate pane).

We are using a combination of buttons and bookmarks to show/hide visualizations so it is difficult to edit interactions on all of the overlapping hidden vizualisations. Having this functionality in a pane would make editing interactions much easier.

Agreed, this is such a big flaw. I've got 25+ visuals on the page, some of which are hidden by default or covered by text bars, etc that make it impossible to click the turn off interaction setting without resizing them. It should work just like in Excel where you have a list of visuals that you check for applying the slicer.

This feature is desperately needed and could be relatively easy to implement. Just like we have Show/Hide icon in the Selection pane, add the icons for interactions. In the current state it's a nightmare to control interactions when more then a few visuals is on the page. I often have 15-20 visuals on a page, sometimes overlapping (this is the key to make visually pleasing reports) and I always have to move them around, memorizing the coordinates, just to wire the interactions.

Yes, this would be very useful. Create a 'manage interactions' pane/panel, or incorporate into the Selection Panel. Allow the ability to view and browse all objects on a page. Then select one (or more) objects and selectively toggle on/off the interactions with any/all other objects on the page. Also, allow to toggle on/off interactions with 'object types', such as turn off interactions with all Text Boxes, or all Slicers, or all Charts etc.

Right now, as other commenters have noted, editing interactions for complex dashboards with many visuals and overlapping or hidden objects is time consuming and prone to errors.

It would be nice if Power BI allowed you to modify visual interactions in a similar way Excel allows you to modify the slicer connections with charts and pivot tables. Currently, if you have many visuals on a Power BI report, it can be difficult to modify the interactions because the visuals are too close together. When this happens, we have to manually move the visual which can be time consuming.

RE: Edit interactions from selection pane

Our dashboards can become very complicated (15+ visuals) in regards to cross-filtering visuals via other visuals. The current system for this (edit interactions) is exceptional for dashboards with a few visuals. However, once the product reaches a critical mass of visuals, ensuring the cross-filtering interactions are set up properly becomes a frustrating burden.

Some of this frustration is solely due to "overlapping" visuals -- the edit interactions button can only be reached, at times, by moving visuals into a click-able area, making the proper changes, then moving the visual back to its proper place.

The suggestion I could make is to include a separate "pane" for the user to manipulate the interactions. Ideally, when the pane is selected, visuals can be tabbed through and will become highlighted in the working space while the user makes the appropriate changes in the pane.

RE: Edit interactions from selection pane

Turning on "Edit interactions" when there is an overlap of visuals or visuals butt up against one another makes it impossible to click on the interaction buttons, unless you resize the visual, change the interaction, and then resize the visual.

Instead of placing the interaction buttons outside the visual where it interferes with the buttons of other visuals, make the buttons float on top of the visual in a shaded overlay. This would completely eliminate this issue when items overlap or butt up against one another, and make it easier to know which interaction button goes with which visual.

Yes please, it is really a great problem and it repeats at each single visual added to the page!
Interactions should be managed differently, maybe something similar to the "Slync slicer" view.
