SDMX is one of the main protocols used for transmit statistical data from International organizations such has Eurostat. It is currently possible to connect PowerBI to it, but there is a lot of work to do, concerning the query. If we have a get data source for SDMX would be great.

A powerful tool , but don't forget the capacity buildings !

C

SDMX is a powerful and flexible API for data and metadata exchange. Let's further empower our toolbox with this connector.

We need as many tech solutions as possible based on SDMX.

A certified SDMX connector would be a great opportunity to make official statistics (from national stats offices, central banks, and international organisations) easily accessible in SDMX, to be explored, combined and used for policy analysis. So please Microsoft have it certified!

C

Some public websites only have data in a SDMX format. Will make our life easier if we can pull them automatically into PowerBI

C

It would streamline PowerBi work with some many official statistics sources!!!

C

would be really useful, if you can do the miracle :-)))))

This is a great idea and one that we are looking into. It is very easy to get SDMX-CSV data into Power-BI from a file or REST API (using the header Accept="application/vnd.sdmx.data+csv"). There is also a video showing how to get data from SDMX-JSON: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZmHuHb6D-Q Nevertheless, a dedicated connector would make building reports from SDMX sources much more user-friendly. What do you think the supported formats should be?

C

SDMX is supported by StatCan, the Canadian economic data warehouse. A proper connector would be extremely useful.

We work with open data hub, and that is the only source available there. That will be great if that option is provided in Power BI.
