Similarly to the Filter Pane, have the option to hide the new App navigation pane. Many of my reports are unreadable due to the size they are reformatted to when the App navigation pane is present.

RE: Hide the App Navigation Pane

The inability to turn the Navigation pane off in the new app update has caused a major issue with displaying our visuals. Most of our visuals are displayed on large overhead monitors and were appropriately sized for a full screen view. These are not interactive views for a reader. Now the visuals are reduced in size by 25% roughly and impacts readability for associates and supervisors in production. Management is not happy about this. When can this be fixed as nothing was broken with this function before. Why would you just remove this functionality knowing it would cause issues for users with long established report views?

RE: Hide the App Navigation Pane

Yes - this one is a critical change. PLEASE allow us to hide the Navigation Pane in Report View. The inability to do so now has caused problems with the layout of a number of our reports, and it is a completely unnecessary feature for most report viewers.

RE: Hide the App Navigation Pane

I have raised an issue to ask Microsoft to allow us to show page tabs along the bottom of an app. We have many powerbi reports and many pages within reports using a custom menu which relies on the page tabs being at the bottom of the page for usability.

RE: Hide the App Navigation Pane

This is a Public Preview, and not a General Available feature, but when I updated the content of my App yesterday, it somehow got active. And now, there is no option to revert back, what is causing many problems for our users.

Apparently, the simpler solution for this is again, let the Navigation Pane be optional. You can use it to control which audience can access which report, but not force it as the standard of App navigation.

There are several ways to provide access to reports. In our case, we have a custom menu with links, and it was working like a charm before this update. Now, the tabs "look missing" and we have to spend all they guiding the users to find it.

We consider this a design incident and it should be treated as a flaw. I'm posting here on Ideas, but it is by far a simple suggestion, it is a calling for help, because we see it as broken right now.

Please, take a look at the bottom of the link I posted with the release info, and you will see many people having the same kind of trouble.

Please share this Idea so that we can have many votes as possible.

Thanks in advance!

RE: Hide the App Navigation Pane

With the new Workspace App experience released yesterday (01/09/2022) Link Here, the main feature was to have different Audiences with access to different reports in the same App. This is a welcome feature. But to implement this feature they are relying on the Navigation Pane, a feature that already existed in the old App, but we had the choice to toggle it on/off.

Now, with this new App experience, the Navigation Pane is mandatory and is forced viewed in the App. If it was just a pane that you could hide, like the filter pane it would be Ok just to ignore it. But no, it steals the tabs from the report you are viewing and put it under the pbix file name in the pane. The users are having trouble to find the content since we have other ways to land in the app, and when they get there, the report they are browsing may be at the end of the list of the reports in the pane, what is not very intuitive, because the tabs are not in focus. Not only that, but the order of the reports is not sorted alphabetically (you have to do it yourself and organize it in sections). It could be useful for an App with 5 reports, but in my case I have more than 100 reports in the same App.
