I manage PBI reports across more environments than I care to mention and have to have the same report in each one. When I have to deploy the same report manually across these environments I open each report, change the data source, and manually publish it to the corresponding space. Kind of prone to human error. I need an exposed report value so I can put the data source in a card and make sure the DEV report isn't pointing at the UAT environment etc. Any other system variables you would like to expose would be cool also.
