I can copy the visual either as image or data table and paste it in other applications.

March 2022 Update: We are looking into this

We recently released the ability to export data from tiles and visuals to a CSV file. This may work for y'all as a workaround until we add the ability to directly copy and paste the visual or data. You can read more about it here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/powerbi/archive/2016/01/06/power-bi-service-update-0106.aspx#exportTile. Be sure to let us know what you think about the feature!

RE: Copy/paste the data behind the visual in Power BI to other applications

As many have stated, the ability to export data to a CSV does not replace the need for a copy/paste feature directly from a visual, especially when the export data is also limited to 30k/150k rows depending on whether you have pro or not.

In a very common workflow, a user would use the Power BI report to obtain a listing in a table and would want to use one item in the table to search in another application. For example, if a user finds a serial number for an item using Power BI, they may want to search for that in a database and would not want to export a whole csv to just get that one serial number. They also would not want to manually type out that serial number due to the high chance of mistakes being made.

Copy/paste is a fundamental feature and should be prioritized in order for Power BI tables to not just display data, but to display useable data.

If this item was 'planned' on January 6th, 2016... 19months ago... can you please tell us where this is now?

I was all thrilled at what PowerBI could do for us, and now I see that it cannot even manage copy/paste - so all of that useful data is great as long as you don't want to do anything more than read it.

PLEASE fix this now.

Still want to copy/paste table. Select table in PowerBI. Ctl-C. Click in Word or Excel. Ctl-V. Voila! The entire data table and its contents are copied. People still write reports, and they need to include data from PowerBI tables. Yes, export to CSV is a workaround, but it's slow. Microsoft Office was built on copy/paste. Bring it to PowerBI!

RE: Copy/paste the data behind the visual in Power BI to other applications

This suggestion open for almost 3 years and will make huge improvement for user experience. We are dealing with end users - how you expect us explain them missing ability to copy cell value?

Sorry but this kills sales if we let users access and play with test reports. First what they want - verify data in ERP. How they suppose to do it?
