I have a need for a slicer where the end users are able to type in a number to "filter" one visual. Acknowledging we are able to use the filter pane to achieve the same result, however, these filters will filter an entire page vs one visual. (I don't offer the ability to select visuals in the app)
The usability of a dynamic slicer that allows and manual numeric entry affords me the opportunity to pre-configure a filter, where currently end-users are required to open a filter pane, select the filter, select an option for "Show items when the value...." before they enter the value they intend to search.
The simplicity of a dynamic slicer for end users is the true need. Many of my end users are not looking for elaborate information but are instead for just a single "record" in a table among 1000's of rows.
I would like to for my end users to browse to the app, type a number into the dynamic slicer, review the update of the record they're interested in, backspace/delete to clear that number and enter a new record number, and repeat the process as often or a little as needed for multiple records.
