RE: field of "duration" type
I work for SA Health in Australia and we have moved into Power Bi - some people still like Tableau but I'd prefer PBi, please MS work to getting this set. For example I want to be able to plot time periods in either/or X + Y.. I can currently turn time into hour and work with a 24 hour day, and I can manipulate a work around for this, but it could be much easier to show time in a hh:mm format within the charts. Many thanks for your hard work.RegardsClin Epi

Yes, it's true that to some extent it can be got round at by (for example) holding an integer as duration in seconds, but then displaying (say) 3,010 seconds on a chart is nowhere near as meaningful as 50 minutes 10 seconds(50:10)! And when the duration goes over 1 day (86,400 seconds) we're into another set of problems!
Durations (resolution of one second or better) with a range of display options. Complete the job that was started within PowerQuery - PLEASE.

Please add........
RE: field of "duration" type
I can't believe this feature still doesn't exist in such a powerful tool like Power BI, it doesn't make sense.
RE: field of "duration" type
is there an answer about this?
RE: field of "duration" type
I’m currently having to create (in Power Query) about 10 duration fields that’s first converted to seconds with type as an integer. Then doing some calculations in DAX to get the averages, max, min, differences, standard deviations etc. Then finally doing some complex conversions back to time.
Having duration type in DAX would avoid having the extra steps
