When working with SQL server, seeing actual SQL statements can help with data preparation, e.g. user can choose to materialize the data as new table to improve performance of further transformation/visualization steps.

This is available in the right-click menu within the Steps pane. Select an specific step and you'll find "View Native Query" as a context menu option. This will give you the underlying query sent to the source. Note that in cases where the query no longer "folds" to the underlying source (i.e. because you're using non-supported transformations in that source), this option will be disabled.
