This is a continuation of "Allow runtime parameters in Power View and/or Power Query". Request this capability in Power BI Online so users can go to a dashboard and easily be able to search for a list of values. Currently the user would need to use a slicer and individual select each value. An example would be if I had list of part numbers to search in the dashboard. Currently I would need to scroll up and down in a slicer and individually select each one. In SSRS I can create a parameter dropdown and easily type in and even copy and paste values in to search for.

RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters

Enabling the user to modify stored procedure parameters is fundamental - has been around in reporting tools for 30+ years. Power BI is not ready for prime time without this capability.

RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters

Being able to pass parameter in an URL directly to a DirectQuery to filter teh data at the source is so important.

we are currently using this:

https://reportserver/reports/powerbi/Store Sales?rs:Embed=true&filter= Store/Territory eq 'NC' and Store/Chain eq 'Fashions Direct'

But in this case, all data is brought to the report and then report is filtered.

we need the data to be filtered at the source

RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters

We are migrating SSRS reports to Power BI. We are unable to build the dataset due to huge data. We need parameters(dynamic) to restrict the data

RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters

Please make this feature available, with the ability to pass UserPrincipalName () or UserName () to the stored procedure!

RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters

End-users need the capability to choose parameters within the report published on Power BI Service. Also as Power BI has the limitation with Google Analytics connectors, and GA connectors don't pull data accurately for wider date ranges, having parameter is the only workaround. So having this capability will give my user the capability to run the report without any dependency.

RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters

End-users need the capability to choose parameters within the the report published on Power BI Service. This is a major roadblock for us transitioning enterprise to Power BI.

RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters

Please add parameter functionality to power bi online so users can specify parameters.
This will be extremely useful when using dates.

RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters

Definitely need this for passing user-entered parameters, like Zip code for one example, into DAX calculated columns. I cannot get data from one unrelated filtered table into DAX unless I can access and use the lookup value, which I currently cannot if it's set via page or visual filter.

Not having this is KILLING ME on a current project... A total blocker.
