New Desktop app update installed an almost white user interface. There is zero contrast which is not good for the eyes. I see where some people have requested a light interface so incorporate an option to select either light or dark theme like in the Office apps.

This request is on our roadmap, but we don't have timelines to share yet. We'll update this idea when there are more details to share. Thank you!

I agree with everyone else who's posted here: the new lighter interface SUCKS! Bring back the dark interface or give us the option to switch between the two.

Switching to a lighter theme without leaving the option to switch back to the dark theme is a bit puzzling. Would like to see the dark theme restored soon, or provide the ability to choose.

This was the first thing I noticed and tried searching for after installing the latest update. Having the option to toggle between different interfaces (could be more than just dark and light, maybe customizable?) would be great and much easier on the eyes. Now it hurts to look at the screen because it's brighter than the sun.

I have been a PBI user since the beginning and always appreciated the dark theme. I assumed that whomever had designed it that way was a very industry oriented thinker. Since I often have to spend very large amounts of time staring at the screen in order to prepare reports and other visuals. This change to a default of white mode with no way of switching is incredibly awful. It makes me think that changes are being made just for the sake of making a change. I just did a scan of all the Power BI Ideas and didn't come up with a single one that asked for a lighter interface. Don't you have enough things to work on already? We still don't have the ability to create measures when using a Direct Connection. Wouldn't your development budget be better spent on useful updates?
