It would be nice if there is an option to have a scheduled export of a report to PDF. A nice to have feature would be to directly e-mail it to people so they are being notified of the latest report.

In addition to the support we have for paginated reports already, we have started the work to support this for Power BI reports and expect it to land by the end of the calendar year in the Power BI service.  Like for paginated reports, it will be a Premium feature and will be available to customers with either Premium capacity or if you have the new Premium per user license, which will be available at no cost to all users during the public preview period.  You can read more about getting priority access to the public preview for your tenant at this link - https://powerbi.microsoft.com/blog/priority-access-sign-up-for-power-bi-premium-per-user-public-preview-now-available/

I'd also really like to have an auto-export of an Excel file of a data table from within a report. This would actually be more useful. Anyone can go look at the Power BI file for seeing a report if they don't have a pdf, but if we could auto-export an Excel file to a SharePoint location, I could use that export as a data source for other Power BI reports.

RE: scheduled export of a report to pdf

it could be useful to have the subscription report using the RLS of each individual user we are sending the report and not only according to the security of the subscriber (ie: I am an admin that setup a subscription and which the users to only receive the report according to their rights).
It could also be useful to have secured images on on-premise servers that are exported in PDF or other properly. currently it s an error box !!!

RE: scheduled export of a report to pdf

Last request around this, having the option to execute the subscription according to other refresh. For example, we are using a scheduler but this is already impossible to administer the PBI dataset refresh properly and schedule the launch of the report just after.
Only current workaround: knowing the average time required for the dataset to refresh, taking some marging and planning the launch of the reports afterward. But in case of dataset refresh error or dataset refresh that took more time than expected, all report will have the incomplete figures of not totally wrong.

All this to be able to use PBI as a whole on a global and WW scaled company instead of on-premise platform to avoid all these missing functionalists

RE: scheduled export of a report to pdf

Hi Team, similar to other reactions, i was simply amazed to find out that subscriptions currently only deliver .png format (for PBI Pro users). Other BI tools can export to pdf/excel/csv/html... It's really a step back for a user community that is used to features like that.

I see your latest update dates July 16, 2019. Would you have more news in the meantime? Thx.

RE: scheduled export of a report to pdf

This is just basic functionality that everyone else has. You shouldn't have to purchase a list of SKUs beyond that of what is supposedly a 'power' app. Automating a .pdf, .csv, .xlsx file should, at the very least, be an option. These are basic file types that many use every day. I get it if the free version didn't have this very basic functionality. But, once you charge someone for something like this, to exclude this very basic functionality is ridiculous. especially when you call it a 'power' app.

I think MS will not implement ths in a way people reading this expect as this breaks the business model. Allowing automated export to pdf/powerpoint etc means consumers would not need a powerbi license. Why else cripple the product like this? If you need this, you may want to look at another bi sollution. But I added my vote!

RE: scheduled export of a report to pdf

will you also fixed the issues on the current version of the scheduled report that do not show the current available data or sometimes just blank components?
I have tickets open on the premium support already since months without fix
