It would be great if we can connect or open the password protected excel workbook inside Power BI Desktop. Of course we should know & provide the password first.

Power Query / Power BI should ask / or give an option to open a password protected file , If the password is correct it should be able to open it and retrieve data from it . else it should not open it . It is a wonderful tool..
this will be helpful in maintaining sanctity of the data and confidentiality of the File by the users.

Power BI is an awesome analytical tool. And in some cases the data protection is much more important for the company policy. In case if the Power BI have an option to import the data from the protected excel file it would be really awesome. Of course yes while importing the data, it should restrict the user to enter the password to open in power bi console.
