    Connect to password protected excel workbook

    It would be great if we can connect or open the password protected excel workbook inside Power BI Desktop. Of course we should know & provide the password first.

    Power BI is an awesome analytical tool. And in some cases the data protection is much more important for the company policy. In case if the Power BI have an option to import the data from the protected excel file it would be really awesome. Of course yes while importing the data, it should restrict the user to enter the password to open in power bi console.

    If Microsoft wants to do business in Europe with PBI, it is a MUST to comply with GDPR regulations.

    I really need this functionality. Looking at the dates on the thread, I really think this should have been addressed by now. Please can it be dealt with ?
