Tables and visuals currently have a little filter icon that shows up on top showing "Tables and slicers affecting this visual".
It would be extremely intuitive to leverage that UI and provide users the ability to update the filters right there instead of having to go to the right pane and do it.
In addition, the filters could have a check which allows users to apply that filter just to the visual or to the whole page.
I've seen numerous users just automatically clicking on the filter icon with the expectation that they can change the filters there so certainly feel like that will be a worthwhile change.
The right filter pane can get overcrowded since it has visual level filters, page level filters and report level filters and users lose track of where exactly they are when there are a large number of filter options there.
