In IBM Cognos, there is very useful feature to have variable and Conditional Block to manipulate what needs to be shown on report.
In current solution, Bookmark with Button or measure achieve such functionality to an extent but not completely open up dynamic contents without doing much coding. I also see if number of bookmarks increases, it increases complexity in handling what to show and what to hide.
Having Variable controlled by slicer and Conditional Block to contain visuals will help in achieving such show/hide easily.
