Is it possible to add the functionality of displaying labels (value, location,etc) on the Shape Map visual (in preview as of June 2016)?
The visual does currently display a tooltip for the location.

This would be incredibly helpful. If you could identify in the Map Key the field you would want to use for a label, or determine via a table field within Power BI, that would be amazing.

This is a basic requirement for data visualizations. All competing data visualization products include such a feature.

A big yes to this as its kind of must to be able to show labels on map it self so that map can be self explanatory.

I was able to create a custom map and implement it in a report in Power BI Report Builder with labels. I expected to be able to use the same map in my Power BI report but then strangely discovered that location labels on a map aren't supported?
It is an unexpected blocking issue for my project.
