A lot of SAP customers would benefit from a using PowerBI. A direct connection to SAP ECC would be a powerful addition to the list of connectors. Similar to SFDC a set of models around Order to Cash, Spend Analytics would be a great set of dashboards.

The ability to access SAP ECC data using a "BObj Universe" was one of the things that drew us to Power BI. Then we found out that this connector was removed due to licensing issues (so I heard).

I think the inability to access ECC data directly is a big shortcoming of PowerBI at least for those of us that would prefer to use PowerBI over the SAP BI tools.

We are exploring options to move some of our reports from QlikView engine to PowerBI. Having no ability to query SAP ECC data from PowerBI is a showstopper for us.
