The new app navigation experience is great but can take up a good chunk of screen retail space.

The option to collapse/uncollapse the navigation pane would be a great feature for users, allowing them to focus entirely on the report/dashboard

We've released an update to the app navigation experiences that includes the ability to collapse the left navigation. Read all about it in our blog: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/announcing-designing-custom-navigation-for-power-bi-apps-is-now-generally-available-ga/

RE: Collapse App Navigation Pane

Very important. I'm hiding it for myself with uBlock origin, but cannot explain this to End-users. Simple but crucial change needed!

RE: Collapse App Navigation Pane

Hello, I created my navigation pane with using bookmarks and I would like to hide the Power BI pane with tabs located in the bottom of the page so it is not duplicating my navigation.. From the discussion below I understood that I can use this code

"javascript:( () =>{nav=document.getElementsByTagName('app-navigation-pane')[0];nav.style.display==='none' ? nav.style.display='' : nav.style.display='none';}) () "

to hide it. Can anyone just simply explain me where to insert this code, please? I cannot figure it out how to use it.

PS. I'm using desktop version

How many votes are required to implement this idea ? This idea was created on last year June but its not yet implemented. Everytime I come here to see this idea and getting frustrated to see it's not implemented yet.

RE: Collapse App Navigation Pane

Yes please. What an enormous amount of screen real estate wasted.

RE: Collapse App Navigation Pane

YES PLEASE! Can we get this done?
We're getting MANY requests from our business users for this.
It takes FAR too much space.

In addition, could have an option to choose if the report pages will be kept in traditional tabs or in the navigation pane.

RE: Collapse App Navigation Pane

I like the idea of the web app, because we can efficiently collect the reports relevant for a target group. The navigation pane however takes too much space from the report and makes working with the data challenging. Collapse / show feature prevents from rolling web-apps.

RE: Collapse App Navigation Pane

simply create a new bookmark with the following URL. Then open you PBI app, and click on the bookmark that you have saved on the bookmark pane

javascript:( () =>{nav=document.getElementsByTagName('app-navigation-pane')[0];nav.style.display==='none' ? nav.style.display='' : nav.style.display='none';}) ()
