PLEASE!!
Yes, Please!
Our clients are becoming more reluctant to use computers for anything. Please add this feature! Mobile views in PowerBI need a lot of TLC and this would be a good start.
This is actually possible... This article explains how it's done: https://kteam.ch/knowledge-base/phone-call-links-in-power-bi/
If you watch the video in the article, you'll see a way to do this without the need for a paid license and with a certified custom visual
We use the mailto: to create hyperlinks for email addressess. The same feature for phone number via tel: would be very helpful.
We can open a hyperlink from PowerBI. We can open a blank email addressed to a recipient from Power BI. We should be able to call someone from Power BI using the browser function in edge known as callto:588595. If we have mailto prefix why can't MS implement a callto:
Many phone systems, such as Cisco, will respond to an URL on the browser formatted as "tel:920-555-1212" and will dial the user's connected deskphone. This is very similar to "mailto:" for launching emails. Power BI web URL will not recognize the "tel:" or "SIP:" tag however. It would also be great to add a phone icon for the phone URL similar to email, http, etc.
Please add the ability to use more options for URL's but not limited to tel: and callto:.
Teams is a Microsoft product and in order to create a employee interface, it would be great if Power BI not only recongizes mailto Links, but also callto: links.
With callto, I could create interactive room plans linked with the persons and their respective contact data, instead of having to look through Teams.
Users of my report want to be able to take action immediately and conveniently by calling or messaging numbers detailed on rows. A URL that activates the default phone or messaging app once clicked would be ideal. This is similar to browser based functionality common to most modern browsers.
