If a table isn't hidden, it shouldn't be hidden by PBI Desktop.
I have a client who wanted to provide a table name in an SSAS Live Query data model, but have no existing columns. The aim was to have a location for report writers to attach their own measures, etc.
But if the AS data model has a table that isn't hidden, but only one column that is hidden, PBI desktop hides the table as well. Other tools show the table.
