I would like to be able to label lines directly in a line chart. Placing the legend either at the beginning or at the end of the line makes it easier for the readers to identify the lines.

This is data visualisation best practice and both Excel and Tableau can do it.

I can't believe this isn't currently possible, as mentioned by Dawn Kernen. Industry standard for Data Visualisation
Its easy in Excel using data lables.
Should be an option to choose different fields for the table (i.e. value, series etc).

This is best practice for data visualization and it should be available as an option other than a separate legend.
