Ideally all Goals are directly connected to data / dashboards and with leveraging & connecting the ecosystem of reports already available. In some cases manual can just be more pragmatic. In some cases decisision are taken to change a goal from auto connected to manual. Notice though you can not change that anymore once already created & connected.
I realize you could just delete the goal and recreate it but with it you would loose the checkin details.
Suggest to add ability to simple change from auto > manual input to to improve User experience.
Have seen a couple of UX topics now which make me lean towards "not yet ready to use" although overall very enthusiastic about the intend/setup itself
