Vote on this idea if you want expand/collapse on column headers in the matrix similar to what was shipped for row headers in November (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-november-2018-feature-summary/#expandCollapse).

10/20/2022 - Just an update, this is an extremely expensive item, which is why it has not been picked up yet. I promise we will revisit this after we ship visual calculations

RE: Add expand/collapse feature to column headers

Yes, please! Usually I face a matrix were in rows I have employees names and in columns the year/month/day...

I tried changing the order, but some offices has >30 employees so you can imagine the visual mess of searching them in the columns. In the same way, what I'm doing now it's to having employees in the rows and dates in the columns, but then when you expand to next level up to the day, now the visual displays all days (segmented in months) YTD, imagine what will happen to my matrix in a few more months! and if you are thinking about the filters, I have them, but as this matrix is part of a report showing other features, sometimes final users do not like to use the filters in order to see 'everything at a glance' ...

thank you

RE: Add expand/collapse feature to column headers

Agree with comment and it is realy necessary .....It would be great if column headers in the matrix can be expanded/collapsed the same way as for rows. Our finance users would like to show Year numbers in a column with ability to drill down to quarter, month level columns.

RE: Add expand/collapse feature to column headers

It is very important feature. I would like to be able to collapse and expand columns. For example: I would like to be able to show monthly values of a measure for previous months and see weekly values only for current month. Also conditional formatting should be applied to totals as well which is not the case currently. Can't you do it similar to excel and reporting services?

RE: Add expand/collapse feature to column headers

how come I can´t hide/collapse row headers? there's not even one custom visualization to supply this feature. Very annoying having to repeat headers in a series of matrices
