Vote on this idea if you want expand/collapse on column headers in the matrix similar to what was shipped for row headers in November (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-november-2018-feature-summary/#expandCollapse).

This feature is rearry importance for us!

This and the lack of conditional formatting are really a pain when trying to match previous reports made in excel, users simply believe it's our fault!

A

Alternative: web pivot tables with expand/collapse on both rows&columns (+ direct query for any SQL database, MongoDB and even ElasticSearch: https://www.seektable.com

come on guys enable to collapse columns in the matrix visualization is very useful

A

Still under review, why. Need to be able to collapse columns, e.g. multiple quarters in a year, but with current expanded only.

A

Why is this still under review? I think the work should have already commenced on this , given that this idea has generated 3000+ votes. Please make this happen.
This enhances the user experience considerably.
Expand/collapse feature to row headers was the best feature that was added last year

Until this is implemented: The Acterys Matrix/Matrix Light Power BI custom visual includes this option: https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/power-bi-visuals/WA104381371

This would be very useful. This is one of the few features that Excel Pivot Table is still better than a Matrix.

I thought this was already implemented, so I scoured the internet on how to do it. But turns out it doesn't exist. Instead I have to do some disconnected slicer witchcraft to get around it.

Much like other users below, trying to showcase multiple measures (WTD MTD YTD) on a single page, and having the ability to collapse a whole bunch of them would be super super useful.

Please Power BI gods

The interface would look much cleaner if we have the expand and collapse feature implemented
