The possibility of Personalize Visuals is great, but it requires a user with a very good understanding of the data model in order to do not get wrong data, specially if we are using calculation groups.

On the other hand, it is almost impossible for a report designer to embed all the combinations that the end users might need and, certainly, cannot put them all in the same page due to space constraints.

The idea would be to have 2 new objects:
1- A Visual Catalog: A list of visuals that the report's designer will define. For instance, variations of the same chart (ie: Sales per Month, Per Country, Per Product Group, etc....). The report designer should have the ability to create several catalogs and reuse the visuals (one visual could belong to several catalogs).
2- A Dynamic Visual object: This will be just a placeholder linked to one of the catalogs. The end user would be able to pick which one of the catalog's visual she/he wants to be displayed.

This would give a good balance between structure and governance and flexibility in corporate environments. Whenever any of the end users finds that a visual is missing (let's say, Sales per Zone), the report designer could just add it to the catalog without having to redesign the whole layout.
