As it stands today it is impossible to do develop a power bi dataset in collaboration with multiple people. There is no way to do version control other than "stuff it on a one drive folder and use its version history".
I want to be able to use a source ccontrol tool like git. I want to create branches, merge them, create ci/cd workflows that allow me to deploy directly into a workspace based on the branch used. Its as if power bi was originally develop to be self service but then everyone pushed for a more robust tool to replace ssas but they forgot to create a good way to do collaborate development. ALM Toolkit is not the answer, it CANT be integrated to neither CI/CD nor source control without manual effort, which defeats the purpose.
