I understand it was responded to March 2018, but this would be a killer addition.
This can be used in many reports and change the way processes are redesigned through PowerBi. Please add! Thank you!
what a disappointing response from Will Thompson. 2k+ thumbs up and no plans :(
Key element of PBi, and advertised as is the ability for diverse reporting. Not so diverse now and poor from MS here as the ability is there, you just need to extend it. you can add a search filter that takes user input! all you have to do is extend this.
You also own SQL (as MS), so allowing user input over declares also shouldn't be much of an issue to get "In the Plan".
Most frustrating and silly response i have seen in a while.
Oh well. Hope they plan it before it becomes a show stopper. i am not scripting out mass scripts or hitting my database hard just because i cant diversely get the information i need without having to pull ALL the information for PBI to then filter it.
Need it!
this really shouldn't be in the backlog
It would be really helpful if users could flag certain table items or select a priority for them.
super important to be able to add comments bound to a table in the data model so these comments can be shown with formatting and linked to unique identifiers
How much longer do we have to wait for this??
This would be VERY useful in customer reporting, as the customer wants to add comments for certain records, provide new instructions, etc.
This is stopping us from using powerBI for our customer reporting for many customers.
My workaround is to keep a list of possible values in my table, then user has to select from it. But this must not be the case.
4 years after, how is this still in the backlog? anyone who wants to analyze data (which I assume the purpose of PBI in the first place) has to have the flexibility to put values freely to see how data will respond to the changes.

Thanks for the feedback! This is something we'd like to get to in the future but don't have any plans for at the moment. We suggest checking out the visual Text filter on AppSource in the interim.
