Highly useful !!
I have several SSRS reports that use input fields. I've been asked to convert these reports to Power BI. Without the user input fields this is going to be difficult and I will also need to redesign how the reports work.
Any idea if this is being considered for Power BI or is this an unrealistic hope.
This would be extremely helpful! And soon! Currently prevented from converting other work to PBI because of the difficulty involved in getting at a less than ideal solution.
This feature would enable development of a very Sophisticated modeling, reporting and user information gathering tool to fully exploit the powerful capabilities of PowerBI vs ongoing usage of Excel as the alternative. Think of adding a calculated column of user input, as well as individual fields, and then a button to activate column over rides. I have the ongoing need/application for this, and it’s only growing.
Unfortunately, MS seems much more focused on making reports pretty than on making the tool work in a reasonable manner!
How is this not already a feature?
Please add input filed
This is a very important and user friendly functionality and should be priortize. It will certainly increase the flexibility of analyzing data in Power BI. In Tableau we have user input parameters for the reports.
At my new job I'm using Tableau, which has user input parameters for the output report.
25 years ago Crystal Reports had user input parameters.

Hello ,
An "input filed" is very interesting for example to see a dynamic statistic in funtion of a min and max date.
To create an input field I propose this for the dax function :
> a component which accept several format type (date, datetime, hour, numeric, text, ...)
> the component save in memory a default value if the field of component is empty/voide
> in dax formula give an instruction to pass in variable for a column, the value , replace by a default value in a column if the user doesn' insert a value

Thanks for the feedback! This is something we'd like to get to in the future but don't have any plans for at the moment. We suggest checking out the visual Text filter on AppSource in the interim.
