    In May 2017 Power BI Desktop started supporting creation of DAX measures when working in live connect mode to an external SSAS model: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-may-feature-summary/


    Vote on this idea if you want support for calculated measures against multidimensional models too.

    How can an idea from an year ago, with 1087 votes and hasn't even been evaluated...
    I know microsoft is trying to force companys for tabular model, but there are several companys that still use multidimensional models...

    I was surprise to see that this feature was not implemeted yet ... I need this but I can't ... The problème is that I don't want to create all my measures in the SSAS cube !
    I am waiting for an update soon ;)

    Yes please add this feature, it will be very useful.Also when we select a date hierarchy into a basic filter, the "relative" option is missing, this is due to data type set as text for the date field. IF this can be fixed on Power BI side, it would be great.

    Yes please!!!!!!!!!!! It's working with tabular, surely you can get it working with multi dimensional models.

    Every other idea with more than 1000 votes has a reply from Microsoft against it but this one, and this is the single most important thing for Power BI adoption in the FTSE 100 company I work for.
