    In May 2017 Power BI Desktop started supporting creation of DAX measures when working in live connect mode to an external SSAS model: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-may-feature-summary/


    Vote on this idea if you want support for calculated measures against multidimensional models too.

    How is this not already a part of power bi? My company moved to a live connection and I can't do anything in power bi

    Please include creation of Dax measures when connected to an Multidimensional Cube. It would be extremely helpful.

    Please include this for multidimensional cubes as well. Within Excel it’s possible- why not within PowerBI?! Only then we can use PowerBI for our customers...

    It's very important when user want to design more powerful report in power BI.
    the limitation also limit the reporting in power BI.

    This idea was shared by the Power BI Product Manager, and is one of the top ideas, yet there has been no update for almost 2 years. At least give us an update please.

    Calculated measures are a super common extension of multidimensional data! Why does Power BI not support this feature?!? Welp, back to Excel for me!

    I think the most frustrating aspect of this is that my users had access to this functionality in EXCEL when connected to OLAP cubes.
