    In May 2017 Power BI Desktop started supporting creation of DAX measures when working in live connect mode to an external SSAS model: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-may-feature-summary/


    Vote on this idea if you want support for calculated measures against multidimensional models too.

    I think the problem is that Power BI connects to MDX cubes only via DAX.

    Can we have an update on this please?
    It is among the top 25 ideas, and there is yet no status given...
    At least give us a hint if it is coming soon, or if we need to consider migrating all our multidimensional models to tabular.

    We can't change the cube every time we need a new measure. We want to move to Power BI, but the lack of this feature is making it impossible...
