Enable selection of the default scroll position for the x-axis on a chart. For example, on a line chart with dates as the x-axis, when not all of the data can display in the view at once, the scroll defaults to the beginning/left end of the x-axis and the most recent dates are at the far end causing the end user to always have to scroll to see the most recent data. If you could set the visual to default to the right end, then the user would only have to scroll if they wanted to see more history.

RE: Set default x axis scrolling position

Agreed - this enhancement would be an excellent enhancement to the tool.

Choice of default scroll bar placement, either left-hand side or right-hand side of x-axis, much needed for dates dimensions.

RE: Set default x axis scrolling position

This is a no-brainer, only scroll to the left to see history.

+1 for this to be implemented by MS, but does anyone know of a way to extend PBI to do this ourselves?

RE: Set default x axis scrolling position

We are tyring to migrate from Grafana to Power BI and the absence of this feature was one of the very negative surprises in Power BI. In most (if not all) live charts, where time is on X axis, the user is primarily interested to see the latest status, so the most natural display is the current time position visible in the chart. Note that this feature should be available in general, not only for time - for example, we have cases, where on X axis are build identifiers, but they are in fact events happening in time, and the user naturally wants to see the last builds, when he opens the chart.

I do not understand why this is already not implemented?
Could we get going on this, thanks.

This Enhancement needs to be done and ready for August roll out. I get more and more requests on this... people want to read to the most recent data period or at least from latest data and 13 weeks back o 13 points back
