Currently there are three IMB offerings; Db2 database, Informix database (Beta) and the Netezza. None of these to my knowledge allow connection to an AS400 iSeries DB2 database. This is only achievable via the ODBC offering which is sub-optimal for performance.
There is a distinction between the IBM DB2 platforms. The current connector does not work for the AS400 iSeries version (old System 38 lineage). It only works for the DB2 offering for a Windows or Linux platform.
