    I think that PBI Desktop should perform as quickly as SQL Management Studio when running queries. It doesnt, it sucks and is really slow....

    In particular queries with lots of steps and merges are very slow. It would be great to connect to multiple tables in one go (as per SQL) and connecting to SharePoint to get a single file is also very, very painful if you have a lot of files on your site.


    The nagging question in my mind is why can we not use SQL once the data is brought in?
