Drill down on axis in dashboard without having to enter into the report itself

You can pin live report pages to dashboard if you want this functionality, or use a report instead.

RE: Drill Down in Dashboard

When I pin a report page to a dashboard, it no longer has drilldown functionality. Please fix this.

"You can pin live report pages to dashboard if you want this functionality".

No you can't, that is exactly what this request was aiming for...

Kim, you are clearly not aware of what a dashboard can and can't do.. i hope it wasn't your decision tu decline this request....

RE: Drill Down in Dashboard

Bad answer... pin > 3 reports to dashboard will impact the performance massively.
And in some cases I don't want people to see the reports with much more data...

RE: Drill Down in Dashboard

Would like to echo similar thoughts as mentioned below. The reports that we create are pinned to a live dashboard and only the Dashboard link is shared with users. Drill Down functionality does not work on Dashboards an just to have users to re-direct to a report for that one feature is bit cumbersome.
I have multiple dashboards coming out from a single report i.e. my report has 26 tabs that are feeding 4 dashboards and so when the user clicks to get to the report, it gets confusing for them to move across tabs as compared to scrolling through dashboard live pinned pages.
Hence, I would sincerely request MICROSOFT team to reconsider this feature and have it in future releases

RE: Drill Down in Dashboard

To echo the comments already posted - please reconsider this request as it would solve multiple deployment and usability problems to be able to drill down on a dashboard component without having to open up the report.

RE: Drill Down in Dashboard

too bad!
I have 24 groups of users... do you want me to maintain 24 different dashboards for them?
That's not really convenient, is it?

RE: Drill Down in Dashboard

Kim - That's really disappointing given the desire for this feature. I hope you say more about why this was declined.

RE: Drill Down in Dashboard

Kim - your statement is not accurate. A report that is pinned live to a dashboard loses the ability to drill down through the hierarchy - the buttons are not present on the dashboard. So how does a live pinned report give us this functionality?

Kim - on a more personal note - telling us to use a report instead is unbelievably condescending. We know how to use reports for drill down - the idea was specifically about new dashboard functionality - have some respect for this community please.

Microsoft - please choose ambassadors for your products that are not dismissive of the user base. This is clearly still on issue for users, and to have someone like Kim be the voice for Power BI does a disservice to the product. Some remedial customer management training should be in order for Kim if she is to remain a product manager we are forced to interact with.

RE: Drill Down in Dashboard

In other words Microsoft is really not that advanced and can't do it, given that this is a standard feature in all other BI program I've worked on.

RE: Drill Down in Dashboard

Wow, I hope you all will reconsider this request as it has much interest. Otherwise please clarify more uses for Dashboards vs Reports as it seems like Microsoft is pushing more reports instead of dashboards. On my dashboard that has a live report page pinned it does not even work with an option to turn on drill down and then drill down. I have to click to go to the report. So this part is not even working for me. Others?
