Please add the capability to export Report Server PowerBI reports to formats like pdf, word, powerpoint. Some of this functionality exists in the service but please add it to Report Server.

We'd hoped we'd have a good way to bring this functionality to the server - however, after a lengthy evaluation of all the options and required investments, we're not planning to bring this feature to the server at this time. As a workaround, we suggest using the Export to PDF capabilities in Power BI Desktop for Report Server.

Guys, are you serious? PBI Report Server is dead with this announcement.

This turn of events is seriously jeopardizing PBIRS's chances in the PoC I am working on. I'm working for a financial institution that is far from ready for the cloud based Power BI. Had Microsoft provided this simple capability, my customer would have been secured in using PBIRS until they are ready for the cloud based service. Instead, this will force them to consider alternatives...

Export to HTML with scrolling and filtering will be VERY helpful.

Gotta like the April Fools aspect ... for those who haven't noticed this feature is now on the server edition, not just desktop anymore!

I am shocked to see this one is not planned anymore, as it raises alarm that we won't be able to get senior management buy-in. The ugly truth is many senior guys judge BI tools by simple functionality, such ase exporting to PDF - as most of them are old school.

We had a high expectations to bring Power BI as the official reporting tool, but now it seems we will be screwed by this little functionality

Ok... deep breath... If you are throwing in the towel on paginated PDF exports of grid type Power BI reports from the server, are you at least adding that to the desktop version? And no I am not talking about the current 'screenshot' version now that happens in the desktop app, that is mostly useless.

RE: Export Report Server Power BI report to PDF

We have solved the problem of automated report generation and distribution. BI Helper https://bihelper.tech, our cloud-based solution, uses Power BI Service (or other browser-based reporting) to generate multi-page PDF or PPTX reports with user-defined slicers applied to all pages. We can deploy it on Power BI Report Server too.

The entire report (PDF / PPTX) is attached to an html email and sent to a defined mailing list, with contact email IDs mapped to slicer values. This ensures that reports are delivered ONLY to the intended recipients.

Users can define a campaign, configure its parameters and run it themselves. Campaign monitoring and reporting is implemented to ensure a ‘sleep well’ user experience.

Mail us at contact@bihelper.tech to schedule a demo.

Microsoft really doing their best to push everyone to the cloud version. So companies that cannot make that move will be force to look elsewhere for a competitor's product. Good job MS. Keep scuttling users' most voted for suggestions at your own peril.

Good afternoon Chris, This is really upsetting. We have multiple senior executives who aren't able to use mobile or desktop PBI. By removing PDF feature(s) as well as Email schedule (not on demand) - you're alienating most important customer base.
