This is a continuation of "Allow runtime parameters in Power View and/or Power Query". Request this capability in Power BI Online so users can go to a dashboard and easily be able to search for a list of values. Currently the user would need to use a slicer and individual select each value. An example would be if I had list of part numbers to search in the dashboard. Currently I would need to scroll up and down in a slicer and individually select each one. In SSRS I can create a parameter dropdown and easily type in and even copy and paste values in to search for.

RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters
We need this feature. This will help us to enable many tasks to pull data directly from DB.
RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters
we will need this. It will be absolutely helpful for us
RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters
We absolutely need a way for the parameter to be changed by the end user and then have the data pull again. Even if the data is being pulled from the database directly.

RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters
its important to have this features to improve RLS features. By exemple, if i embed a pbi visualization inside an external webapp, and i need that pbi visualization shows data based on a specifici item (e.g. BuildingID).
RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters
Enabling the user to modify stored procedure parameters is fundamental - has been around in reporting tools for 30+ years. Power BI is not ready for prime time without this capability.
RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters
Being able to pass parameter in an URL directly to a DirectQuery to filter teh data at the source is so important.
we are currently using this:
https://reportserver/reports/powerbi/Store Sales?rs:Embed=true&filter= Store/Territory eq 'NC' and Store/Chain eq 'Fashions Direct'
But in this case, all data is brought to the report and then report is filtered.
we need the data to be filtered at the source
