  1. Automatically change tooltip page view to actual size

    When changing a Page to a Tooltip via Page Information it would be great if the Page View then automatically defaulted to actual size rather than fit to Page.
    Would save a couple of clicks and avoid scaring new users with massive visuals.

  2. Option to FORMAT() values as numbers (not strings)

    The FORMAT() function should be extremely flexible for conditionally formatting measures based on slicers and so on. But right now not even chart visuals agree with it. Please fix it? Pretty please?

  3. Pass SSO user credentials through the Power BI gateway

    We need the user SSO credentials to be passed through Gateway connections to Denodo Data Virtualisation layer to be able to securely federate our data/analytics report queries

  4. Microsoft Teams as Data Source

    I want to connect Microsoft Teams as Data Source by Power BI.

    Scenario:
    - Create a report from the topic of the channel of Team.
    like Word Crowd of the channel.
    - Create a report from the usage of Microsoft Teams.
    like the topic count each channel, member count, total duration.
    - Create a report of usage of Microsoft Teams relate with other systems.
    like a report with Microsoft Teams and Customer Services.

  5. Allow json template formatting for text box and button

    Currently there seems to be no way to customize text boxes and buttons using the json template file, even though they are customizable in the GUI. Please add this ability and update the documentation so we know what the visualName would be for them.

  6. Power BI Desktop - Tear Away Development Windows

    I suspect that many of us today have multiple monitors and/or large monitors. To make better use of the screen area during Power BI Development....

    The development panes such as Fields, Visualisations, Selection, Sync Slicers, Field Properties should be able to be "torn away" and freely move to another screen... and/or allowed to float over the work area. This should also include a separate window pane for DAX code.

    Conditional formatting should include more options like bold, underline, italic, etc. not just font and background color.

  8. Totals in stacked column charts

    During several presentations I get questions regarding the total of stacked columns. In the current situation you can select to label all the parts of the stacked column but no grand total. I would like to see the option to add a label to the Visuals which shows the total of the stacked column (this counts for values only). Ideally this total would deviate together with the drilldowns you select, so it stays interactive whatever filters you select or subsets you create on your dashboard.

  9. Allow Slicers to be preset based on defined criteria

    Allow Slicers to be preset based on defined criteria (i.e. DAX formula or other developer input).

    For example, a dashboard that displays KPI data based on the current week end date. On displaying the dashboard the screen should default to the current end date with the user having the optional ability to set the date slicer for previous weeks.

    At a stretch you could have a button with a bookmark action to run some DAX that could set the date slicer to the latest end date.

    Taking this further you could also reverse and forward the slicer to the next…

  10. Rename Totals

    Please allow users to rename totals in the Table and Matrix visual. This is a very important feature to be able to label what the total means for a specific report (e.g. Month Actual adding up to YTD Actual) rather than simply "total". For the time being the only solution is to put a text box over to which goes away in focus mode, etc. Thank you!

  11. Add explode options for Dounut chart and Pie chart

    There are many scenarios we need to add explode option for dounut and pie chart as requirements. This explode option was possible in other tools and scripting languages.

  12. Disable or prevent Teams from autocreating App Workspace

    Please introduce a global setting to Prevent Teams from creating PowerBi App Workspace automatically when creating a new Team. As the new Workspaces are detached from Teams/Groups this should be a setting to prevent the App Workspaces beeing clotted with empty Workspaces from all our Teams.

  13. Allow 'Edit Interactions' for Filters pane, or add new collapsable "Canvas" pane

    I like the new Filters pane, but I think you really want to think about allowing the same kind of "Edit Interactions" for fields in the Filters pane as you do for any other visual.

    Here's why: I would dearly like to ditch slicers from a report in favour of the Filters pane in order to free up precious screen real-estate, but often slicers are set up so that they only filter *some* things and not others, whereas things in the Filters pane are global, as far as I can tell.

    I was hoping that the filters pane was going…

  14. Bring Forward Calculation Groups for Power BI Desktop

    At SQL Bits, Microsoft announced Calculation Groups. I blogged about that here https://exceleratorbi.com.au/calculation-groups-are-coming-to-dax/

    As I covered in my blog, it is not clear when this will come to Power BI. It would be good to see how many people want this feature sooner rather than later. Please vote if you want to see it in Power BI.

  15. copy data to clipboard

    Copy Data to Clipboard should be a simple right-click context menu capability --- as it has been in Tableau for years. Often, user wants data being displayed without going through export to CSV and import into Excel. Just simple copy-paste of data out of visual to clipboard to ... whatever intended ... is extremely useful.

  16. Rename publish to web

    The publish to web feature, while useful, leads to confusion around those new to platform and possibly non native English speakers. The terminology "publish to web" can be confused by instructions to publish report from desktop to web service, which is fine. Publish to web exposes sensitive business data if author is not careful. While there is a secure option that will be coming soon, I propose renaming the feature to "Publish to Public". The term public is a bit clearer as to the audience. Alternative option could be "publish to public web", just something to allow users/businesses to clearly…

  17. Include Reports/Dashboards from Multiple Workspaces in One App

    Similar to ideas around creating multiple apps from one workspace, it would be very beneficial to have the ability to create a high-level app that includes reports from multiple workspaces. For example, our executive team would like to see specific reports from sales, accounting, and fields ops in one app instead of navigating to three different apps/workspaces to view the appropriate reports.

  19. Rotate text box

    Please add a basic feature with ability to rotate a text box. In many report I would like to use screen real estate effectively by having text vertically on the left allowing full height for visuals. All Office apps have this basic feature.

  20. Allow Power BI Desktop to Create Perspectives (Similar to Power Pivot, SSAS)

    Perspectives are an incredibly useful feature for complex models for end-users. For a complex model, there can be 50+ Tables with 100s of Columns and Measures (sometimes 1000+). This can be overwhelming for a new user who would connect to the Data Model to create their own reports (either using Power BI or Excel).

    Adding the ability to create Perspectives in Power BI Desktop (similar to Power Pivot, SSAS) would be a big help.
