  1. Allow Admin to disable consumer OneDrive access

Enterprise administrators need the ability to restrict access to consumer OneDrive accounts/files. This is a necessary to maintain regulatory and corporate compliance policies.

  2. Make PowerBI simpler: Improve Access to Excel files stored on OneDrive

The current design in the DeskTop to access Excel files stored on OneDrive for business is flawed: you either
    1) access them "locally" i.e. via Get Data > Excel which generates a source like: Excel.Workbook(File.Contents("C:\Users\User\OneDrive -******.xlsx"** 2) or access them via Get data > Web

    In fact you need both:
    1) Access locally stored files with the Desktop, for speed
    2) Access the same files via their OneDrive URI in the Service so that they don't require a Gateway and data can be refreshed

So my suggestion would be to: add an option to Get Data > Excel which…

  3. Connection to MS Access database on OneDrive

According to several blogs it is not possible to connect to tables stored in a MS Access database located on OneDrive.

This is very inconvinient as it forces us to have some global shared drives.

  4. Access-database lying on Onedrive for business as datascource for PowerBI-Cloud:

Access-database lying on Onedrive for business as datascource for PowerBI-Cloud is actually not possible (confirmed by Microsoft-support-team). (Excel as datascource lying on Onedrive for business is possible !)
Advantages of the access-database-solution (=acess-database lying on onedrive f. business as datascource):

    1. Access-database as datascource is more efficient than a excel-file. For example within accessdatabase you can create constraint-rules. Additionally you can cleansing data much better than in excel. It is clear that access-database is a solution for small data-quantity with restrictions.

    2. Access-database as datascource lying on local ressources (onpremise) is possible but in…

  5. Allow direct access to the subfolder of the OndeDrive for Business or Personal OneDrive.

Through the ability to connect to a Sharepoint Folder, we can connect Power BI to the OneDrive for Business root folder. This is excellent and very important, but insufficient. Most projects require that files be organized in subfolders, to which direct access is not allowed. There are ways to do this, but they are not efficient. I suggest that the solution be enhanced to allow direct access to the subfolders located in the root folder of OneDrive For Business or even Personal OneDrive, just as you can with folders and their subfolders located in Drive C on the desktop…

  6. Combine OneDrive with Azure

Currently to pin Excel tiles you need OneDrive for business. With Power BI Pro licensing we already pay for storage in Azure but have no need for OneDrive other than hosting files for the Excel style visualization. It would be nice if the storage purchased with the Pro license also applied to OneDrive so we could access Excel style reports without having to add $5 a user for additional storage we'll never use.

  9. Javascript from OneDrive to Desktop BI integration

When hosting images on OneDrive, ex. product images, in order for the image to display on a shared dashboard the link needs to be made anonymous. This works in the service, however there is not an out of the box way to prevent the OneDrive link from using JavaScript for anonymous access to display images in the desktop application and the desktop application will reject the link to the image. Being able to see images in the desktop application is necessary to be able to scale the dashboard properly before publishing. Would be great to have Power Bi accept…

  10. View .pbix files on OneDrive/OneDrive 4 business

.pbix files are a great way of distributing (1) data, (2) transformations upon that data, and (3) charts on top of that transformed data. They're like a "mini-BI-solution-in-a-box", which I really like.
Currently if you want to share a .pbix with someone the best way is to upload it to powerbi.com which, I think, is absolutely the right way of doing it.
Then I started thinking about the fact that a .pbix is, inherently, a file, just like a .docx, or a .xlsx. Today I can upload a .docx/.xlsx to OneDrive/OneDrive4business and anyone with access to it…

  11. Enable OneDrive Refresh for Excel files loaded from OneDrive Personal in Power BI Desktop via URL

If I load an Excel file using the Power BI Service then OneDrive Refresh is enabled, however, if I use the Desktop version to load the Excel file (via URL), then the service does not recognize this as OneDrive to enable OneDrive Refresh. Obviously, the desktop version is preferable for building reports and the service is preferable for OneDrive Refresh availability.
Can you please provide a way to have the best of both worlds together?

  12. Import data from Onedrive folder web link

Currently we can import file from Onedrive as web link. We want to import all files in "Onedrive folder" as web link without syncing it to desktop.

  13. Show filepath for OneDrive refresh datasets

OneDrive refresh in the Power BI Service is a fantastic method for storing and updating files in an organized fashion. It's become my default storage and update process for Power BI. However sometimes files in the OneDrive get moved around or renamed. While the refresh keeps working despite these changes, it becomes harder to know which .pbix file in OneDrive the dataset in the Power BI Service connects to, especially if I renamed the dataset in the Power BI Service. It would be fantastic to select the dataset in Power BI Service and be able to see the filpath or…

  14. Make OneDrive a default Get Data connector

Please add a OneDrive data source option in Power BI.

It is incredibly frustrating that Power BI does not come with a OneDrive for Business option baked in and is especially strange since OneDrive belongs to Microsoft. It seems like this would have been present in the application from Day 1.

Having to manually locate a file outside of Power BI, identify the correct URL for the file in a OneDrive account, and then having to plug that in to Power BI is unnecessarily convoluted and is particularly difficult for new Power BI users to manage.

  18. Scheduled refreash for OneDrive

Right now OneDrive refreshes approximately every 1 hour. It would be more flexible and less workload for the network if refreshes could be scheduled according to our preferred time. Similar to "Scheduled Refresh" for data sources.

  19. Power BI publish to OneDrive

We’re looking into the governance around deploying our PBI Desktop reports to Power BI Service and want to adopt the methodology that can be found here:

    http://angryanalytics.com/index.php/2017/05/11/power-bi-content-workflow-with-apps/

The problem at the moment is the user can’t save directly from PBI Desktop to OneDrive, the user needs to use file explorer to upload to OneDrive. This seems like an unnecessary and untidy step, please can this functionality be developed.

  20. Enable data source OneDrive refresh in Service for published Desktop files

OneDrive refresh provides the ability to refresh a data source stored in OneDrive once an hour which is a HUGE improvement over the 8 times per day scheduled refresh. However, this requires the user to connect to the data source ONLY through the Power BI Service. This means published Desktop files are off-limits. Currently, a user with data sources stored in OneDrive is limited to the 8 times per day refresh if they intend to use the Desktop software to add calculated columns, measures, or reports.

Please add the ability to enable hourly OneDrive refresh after publishing a Desktop file…
