  1. Rename "Print" in Power BI service to "Print Screenshot"

Lack of real printing is hurting adoption. Microsoft ignores this issue and keeps delivering features that a very tiny minority of users want/need. Printing affects everybody. Not everybody walks around with a fully charged laptop / tablet all day. FIX PRINTING NOW AND BURY TABLEAU FOREVER! Or don't

    • clustering arcgis

I need to make ArcGIS maps Clustering theme to count the number of subscribers in each geographical area by geo coordinates inside it's bubbles.

      For example,
I have table with this kind of data:

      LATITUDE LONGITUDE Subscribers count
      43.25667 76.92861 100
      43.25668 76.92868 200

As I can see, ArcGIS clustering theme counts only quantity of geo coordinates from the source table inside the bubbles, but does not count quantity of subscribers in each bubble. I would like there be possibility to make ArcGIS to count quantity of subscribers in each bubble and make quantity to be summarized in bubbles when…

      • top n selection

If I select a top 5 for example, I want also see the Total amounts for the other products. If possible I want this dynamic. So in my table I see the top 5 and “others” with the amount that is left ( Total amount - top 5 amount)

        • When creating bookmarks, affecting report level filters should be optional

We use report level filters using URL filtering in Power BI embedded. Overriding these with bookmarks kills the entire purpose of the dashboard. Report level filters should not be affected by bookmarks or it should be optional choice when creating the bookmark.
Bookmarking is useless for us with the current behaviour.

          • Export to Excel from PowerBI Embedded

Please provide the ability to export PowerBI Embedded reports to excel. The same functionality that exists on PBI Service.
It is important to also increase export limit.

              • Format visualization "Title" with report themes

The "visualStyles" that can be applied in report themes, since the 2017-Sep release, are great! But from what I can tell, we can't use them to control the formatting options in the "Title" card, for all visualizations.

                Even with something like...
                "visualStyles": {"*": {"*": {"*": [{"fontFamily":"Arial", "fontSize": 10, "color": {"solid": {"color": "#000000"}}}]}}}
...the visualization/chart titles are not affected!

Please let us control the formatting of titles, with report themes.

                • Support Power BI Report Server multiple instances on a single server

Please add support for Power BI Report Server multiple instances on a single server. Like SQL Server Reporting Services : ability to change name, location, add, remove instance. On a mid/large report server farm, multiple instance helps a lot for progressive patching, ssrs subscription launch on different sql engine, etc.

Thanks for submitting this idea. We’re interested to hear from many of you about why and how you install multiple instances of Reporting Services on the same server. Drop us a comment and tell us a little more about
                    - Why do you install multiple instances of Reporting Services on the same server (as opposed to, say, creating multiple folder trees within the same server and using permissions to isolate users)?
                    - What are the key things you’d need to be able to configure differently/independently across instances?

While we could follow the SQL Server approach of enabling you to perform multiple installations of the software on the same server, we could alternatively take a more lightweight approach of enabling you to create multiple “sites” within one installation. (SharePoint uses this latter approach, as did Datazen Server.) The latter approach doesn’t provide quite the same degree of isolation — you can’t…

                    • Way to change datasource import to direct/live query

Create a way to automate the following manual steps..

                      Hi all

I recently wanted to change the datasource from Import to Live Query using the "Power BI service" and had a good lookaround without turning up much other than "you can not"...

However I managed to get it going, effectively maintaining my designs/visuals and changing datasource so that I can get away with publishing one report whenever my data changes.

                      Prerequisites:
                      * TARGET: A .pbix file with designs/visuals using import, no measures.
                      * SOURCE: A clean .pbix file using Live Query to a report/dataset published to app.powerbi.com (no designs/visuals)
                      -This…

Please provide a cancel button/option when a DAX calculated column is processing.

There are times when I create a calculated column, and the logic causes extremely long wait times for the column to evaluate on the table. My only option is to kill the background SSAS process or PBI Desktop, and reopen the report.

My tables are about 1-6 million rows.

Ability to edit the powerbi report in the browser without the need to use the power bi desktop similar to what you can do in the powerbi service. This will allow for an on prem web based self service solution.

                          • Shared data source connection (live to Tabular SSAS) for reports published on Power BI Report Server

Currently each Power BI report published to the Report Server has its own data source embedded within the report. Any change in the source would require us to change hundreds of published reports individually. Could we have a shared data source/connection similar to SSRS Reports that would help us manage deployment and changes much more efficiently.

                              • Allow Date Filter type to be changed in Power BI Service

In Power BI Desktop, a user can change the type of date filter. It can be a date range, or relative, etc. It would be nice to maintain that ability to change the filter after it's published to the service. Our users generally want to see relative, for instance 'last 30 days'. But sometimes they need to see a specific date sometime in the distant past. It would be nice to be able to publish relative, but allow the end-user the ability to switch it to range when needed.

                                • Allow setting connectionstring for imported mode via API

Curently you can set the connection string via 'SetAllDatasetConnectionsInGroup' but only for direct query datasets. Unless this works for imported mode, I don't see how we can make SAAS offerings using imported mode.

                                  • Provide a Power BI Runtime/Viewer Version

Microsoft has a history of providing a runtime/viewer interface for it's product offerings (Access, PowerPoint, Word, Excel). Power BI is the PERFECT example of an application where such a product would greatly benefit the analytic community.
For example, I work in a company with 300 people. One of us (me) builds Access database solutions and thus holds a product license. Everyone else simply uses the MS Access Runtime program (free viewer version) to interact with the databases I build. Talk about a win! WIthout runtime we would simply avoid the program altogether. With runtime, users make great use of the…

                                    • Drillthrough and slicer conflict resolution

Make a drillthrough look for any slicers on the page with the same field and set them to the drillthough value.

Lets say your target is a page all about a widget with a widget slicer. An end user might slice widget A on that page. Later the user goes to another products page and sees widget B in the list, and drills through to the Widget B page. It will come up blank as the drillthrough filter is B, but the page is sliced to A, and there is no widget that is both A and B.

                                      This is…

                                      • Set the data model's default Format, for each Data Type

For example: when the Power BI data model first creates a column with Data Type = 'Date', by default that column is formatted like 'Wednesday, March 14, 2001 (dddd, MMMM d, yyyy)'.

Then, I always go to the Modeling tab, and use the Format drop-down to change it to '2001-03-14 (yyyy-MM-dd)'.

Instead, I would like to be able to go into the "Options" menu in Power BI Desktop, and have a section where, for each Data Type (or at least Date, Date/Time, Decimal Number and Whole Number), I can set the default Format.

                                        So that I don't have to manually…

                                        • Merge ideas on ideas forum

I find the idea forum is loaded with duplicates of ideas where votes and comments are split between multiple threads.
It would be useful if the community could propose a merger with other ideas on the forum (with the link) and then admins could merge the ideas and remove the duplicates.

I think this would make it easier for Microsoft to gain a clearer idea of what users want. And for users would help their ideas to gain a common thread of conversation, plus gain a stronger voice for the ideas they want.
