  1. Analyze which visuals are used across your organization from an admin perspective

It would be very useful to have an admin overview to see which visuals are used in reports across your organization. Especially for custom visuals to see if these visuals are certified, uncertified or organizational allowed visuals.

These insights can be used from an admin perspective to analyze the impact before disabling custom visuals on tenant level.

  2. Connect to Dataflows from Excel's Power Query

Please allow the connection to Dataflows' entities from Excel's Power Query.
There are many cases when customers use Excel and not Power BI. But Dataflows can make the refresh process much faster for them.
    Thanks

  3. Customize visible items in new filter experience

The standard slicers have now a visual level filter, but the new filter experience does not have a similar feature. A correspondent "visual level filter" allowing to define conditions that make an item visible or not. in the new filter experience. The reasons are the same that justified visual level filter in standard slicers.

  4. Enable/Disable export to PDF, PPT and printing functionality by workspace or by report. Rather than at tenant level.

Some datasets and analyses are too sensitive to even allow export to PDF, PPT and printing. But at the moment this option is only available to alter at the tenant level. It would be better to have it either at workspace level, or better, at report level in the same way as data exports are set at report level.

  5. When showing subtotals at the bottom, show the attributes there as well and not on top

When I choose the option to show the subtotals at the bottom, I expect to see the attribute name there as well and not just on top. This is especially crucial for financial statements, like shown here: https://wp.me/p6lgsG-YC

An option to toggle between showing attributes at the bottom only or at the top as well would be ideal.

  7. Dataflow refresh fails if the underlying datasource have date field

Dataflow refresh fails if the underlying data source have date field. Currently the workaround is to convert the datatype to datetime to make it work.

  9. Format Strings don't work on a SSAS Model with Calculation Group(s)

AAS recently implemented Calculation Groups with big fanfare.

However any SSAS / AAS Cube that has any users using Power BI in Live Connect mode cannot add this feature to their cube. I would be willing to bet this is > 95% of all Microsofts Cube customers.

The problem is that any graphical visual (i.e. not table/matrix/card) will not honour any format string (static or dynamic).

This means that any simple measure that shows a % will show as a decimal 0.01 instead of 1%.

This is such a jarring issue for users it means that we cannot use the…

  10. Create model KPIs in Power BI Desktop

KPIs can be defined in the Analysis Services model hosted by Power BI, but there's no UI to create them in Power BI Desktop.

The icon sets feature (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-july-2019-feature-summary/#iconSets) lets you define indicators with logic in the visual itself, but having that logic centrally defined in a model KPI lets you re-use it across visuals and even reports.

  11. Integrate Charticulator into Power BI Desktop

Would be awesome to have Charticulator as a visual option within desktop. Similar to PowerQuery in desktop I could see an option which allows more free form visual building.

  12. Ability to display all type of data details in tooltip or tooltip page for Stacked/Clustered Bar/Column Charts

The default tooltip only shows one type of data details when the bar/column is browsed, as well as tooltip page with Keep all filters toggle on. It will be difficult to read when each type of data is very narrow in the bar/column. It will be great to have a feature which tooltip or tooltip page is able to show all type of data details of the bar/column which is browsed.

  13. Add Quick Access Toolbar to new Ribbon, or at least Save/Undo/Redo

The new ribbon introduced as a preview in the Nov 2019 release is really good, but it got rid of the Quick Access Toolbar that gave us persistent access to the Save, Undo, and Redo buttons no matter what ribbon was showing.

Now, there is no save button, and Undo/Redo are in the Home ribbon only, so you cannot access them with the mouse from the View, Modeling, or other ribbons.

  15. Enable Parallel Query Submission for Snowflake

Snowflake is super fast at running queries but PowerBI is slowing dashboards down by executing all the queries serially. Please prioritise work to fix this.

This following issue about direct queries processing sequentially is related: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/Direct-queries-are-processing-sequentially/idc-p/847026/highlight/true#M50664

  16. Allow subscriptions to personal bookmarks

Please add the ability to subscribe to personal bookmarks. The "Subscribe" feature currently sends a snapshot of the default view with no ability to customize filters in the subscription.

The recent addition of personal bookmarks allows our users to customize reports as needed, and they have been asking for a way to get these personalized bookmark views sent by email. If you could extend the personal bookmarks to the subscription options that would be very helpful.

  18. Visibilty (Hide an Item)

Develop an item formatting property which allows to set the visibility of a report item when you want to conditionally hide the item based on a report parameter or some other expression that you specify (also DAX expressions).

You can develop this incrementally starting from visuals, then text boxes, then shapes and buttons....

If you want to go the extra mile, you can also develop a functionality that allows the final user to toggle the visibility of report items.

For more information and since it was an available and really useful capability see "Add an Expand or Collapse Action to…

  19. Trigger dataflow refresh by refreshing connected dataset or from Power Automate

There should be option to switch on Data Flow refreshes by refreshing Dataset using it or to trigger DataFlow refresh from Flow (Power Automate).

I can trigger dataset refresh with Power Automate after SharePoint folder is updated, but it's useless if DataFlow will not refresh tables which are being used by report.

  20. Deployment pipelines to support dataflows

Deployment pipelines do not currently support Dataflows. In our organisation, we want to carefully govern a particular workspace which will contain the common dataflows which people want to use in many reports (e.g. a dates table, a list of active employees (GDPR permitting, etc).

Deployment pipelines will enable us to put the right governance in place for Dataflows.
