  1. Copy/Paste from Power BI Desktop

    Please allow Copy/Paste functionality from Power BI Desktop. We often need to recreate PBI reports in Excel just so we can Copy tables or charts and paste into PowerPoint or simply email it. Need stronger integration with other Office products. Copy/paste seems so basic.

    Note: Our company uses PBI Desktop and PBI Report Server (on SQL server) - cloud services are not an option because of Protected Health Information.

    We shipped copy and pasting visuals between .pbix files in November.     Note that you can get reports into PowerPoint using the export to PowerPoint feature, and if you want specific improvements make sure to vote on those ideas.

  2. Tool Tips for Buttons

    There is currently no tool tip for a button. Now that buttons can perform actions, it would be very useful to have the option to add a tool tip (or hover event message) rather than the default "click to follow link".

  3. Allow visual header control per visual

    The March 2018 update introduced visual header control at the report level.

    Since this is currently an 'all-or-nothing' feature, please evolve this so we can control visual headers on a per visual basis.

  4. Python Script in Power BI

    It's great that Power BI already has the capability to run R scripts for data transformation. It would be even better if we could run Python script.

  5. Column Profiling Based on All Rows (Data Profiling)

    Loving the new Data Profiling feature. I totally get the logic of only using the first 1000 rows of data to show the Column Profile. But similar to how in the "Filter" Dialog it gives me the option to "Load More". Would like the option to Load the Complete Profile of the Column based on all Data Rows. You can display a warning, if needed to warn the user that this may take a long time depending on the number of rows of data.

    It would be nice if there was an option to do this on a specific Column…

  6. Change label of Total row in Table or Matrix

    On the bottom of a table or matrix, the Total row is labeled as "Total". I need to be able to change that text to something else. For example, if the table rows are labeled as "Americas" and "International", I want the total row to be labeled as "Global".

  7. Bookmark groups

    The new bookmark feature looks great. Would be useful if you could have collections of bookmarks for the presentation mode. For example, we have multiple clients that we provide campaign analysis for. It would be useful to use the same base report for these presentations but with the ability to create a group of bookmarks that are specific to that presentation. That way only one report can be used for every presentation and multiple users could have their own set of bookmarks to view a report in the ways that they specifically care about.

  8. Tooltip for matrix & table visual

    For the Matrix and the Table Visuals (and others), tooltips simply show the value of the item over which the Pointer hovers. The behaviour of the tooltips differs from PBI Desktop to Browser in Terms of Duration of being shown and the truncation of longer texts.

    Other visuals (e.g. bar chart) have a customizable tooltip that can be filled by a special field well. Please add the same functionality to table and Matrix visuals!

  9. Ability to mark some pages as "Do not publish" in Power BI Desktop

    In Power BI Desktop it should be posible, before publishing the file to the service, to mark some pages as "do not publish" or hide them for publishing. This way we can have some safe hidden place to draft new ideas or a repository of charts to copy to the pages that will actually be published.
    The place to put this functionality could be the contextual menu that appears when right clicking the page name (now it shows "Duplicate Page" and "Rename Page". New option could be "Do not Publish")

  10. Format visualization "Title" with report themes

    The "visualStyles" that can be applied in report themes, since the 2017-Sep release, are great! But from what I can tell, we can't use them to control the formatting options in the "Title" card, for all visualizations.

    Even with something like...
    "visualStyles": {"*": {"*": {"*": [{"fontFamily":"Arial", "fontSize": 10, "color": {"solid": {"color": "#000000"}}}]}}}
    ...the visualization/chart titles are not affected!

    Please let us control the formatting of titles, with report themes.

  11. Slicer over all pages

    What we really need is a slicer (filter) to be available over all tabs/pages. Maybe create a user control which can be placed on each page? In this user control you can define multiple filters/slicers which are available on each page. Maybe a kindof pulldown menu for this user control so it does not take up to much space?

  12. Conditional Formatting with fixed colors not color scale.

    Hi Team,

    Conditional formatting is extremely poor as it does not satisfy the basic criteria.

    I need to set the colors based on the value ranges.

    Red - if the values are <75
    Yellow if the values are in between 75 and 84
    Green if >=85.

    I don't need diverging. Users are getting confused among the multiple shades when you are dealing with high dense values.

    Please let me know if this can be implemented in the near future or not,

  13. Allow copy and paste between different PBIX's

    Often we need to expand on an idea from one report further and copy and paste visuals/pages from one PBIX to another. This would be a huge productivity and quality benefit.

  14. Conditional Formatting based on a different measure

    I would like to be able to format a column in a table or matrix based on values of a different measure, or based on values of the same measure in a different row of the table.
    Examples :
    1. Conditional formatting of sales amount based on the value of sales amount last month(green if higher, red if lower etc.).
    2. Conditional formatting of sales amount based on sales goal(higher/lower than goal, and how far from target)

  16. Ability to wrap text in visual titles

    When the title of a visual is too long relative to the visual size the title is cut off and replaced by 3 dots. This results in having to hover over the title or entering focus mode to see the full title.

    I think the titles should have the option to wrap text, similar to the functionality that the card visual has.

  17. Change X and Y axis labels manually, similar to Excel

    I think you should be able to type whatever you want into the X and Y axis to make up the title for them.
    This seems like a simple feature and works really well in Excel.

    When I have multiple fields in a chart the axis is long and ugly, where a simple edit should be available to shorten this down.

  19. Print option from Power BI Desktop

    A print option for Power BI Desktop is required.

    This will support design and development efforts by having a hard copy available for use in scenarios where online and real-time are not the best approach or even the most appropriate approach.

  20. Dynamically specify Data Colour using column e.g #A66999.

    The ability to provide specify the Data Colour for each item in the Legend field. E.g. a column from the data source in which to specify the colour e.g. #A66999 for each item in the Legend field.

    This would apply to all the standard charts, e.g. bar, column, line chart, any of the charts with the Legend property.

    Near the end of last year we upgrade visuals to use conditional formatting just like tables. This means you can take advantage of “By field” formatting to do exactly what this idea requested. Create a field in your model assigning colors, and then use the conditional formatting dialog for colors to format it.
