  1. Allow admins to send notifications via Notification Center

As a Power BI Administrator, I want to be able to push rich custom notifications to all users or to a subset of users and have those notifications appear in the Notification Center. For example, if we have internal training, new support procedures, critical announcements etc I would be able to send those notifications to users via the Notification Center in Power BI

  2. Power BI Deployment Wizard

The Power BI Deployment Wizard would provide a graphical interface within an app workspace to define all the required variables of the deployment including target workspace, target dataset (or copy dataset), which reports and dashboards to deploy, etc.

Additionally, the deployment wizard would optionally export out a PowerShell script reflecting the defined deployment. Thus, if the scenario reflects a common pattern or standard the team wishes to follow, the script could be reused across other deployments.

  3. Export user list for reports and workspaces

When creating workspaces, we cannot even copy/paste the list of users or e-mails from another workspace. Allowing export of user lists would save us the trouble of typing the e-mails one by one. I am currently managing a list of 70 users and it is a pain, what about those who have hundreds of users to manage!

  4. De-couple the disabling of "download as .pbix" from the disabling of exporting data

Right now, if you want to disable peoples' ability to download reports as .pbix files from workspaces, you have to do it for the entire tenant, and this also disables all data export from reports. Please de-couple these functions and make them report-specific.

Settings for data export are already report-specific, so that's good. Now just give tenant admins the ability to disable JUST "download as .pbix" or JUST "export data". And then make it a report-level setting for workspace admins to enable or disable the ability to download as .pbix.

  5. Apply O365 naming policy to Power BI New Workspace Experience

There should be a way to apply a naming policy for the Power BI New Workspace Experience, similar to how this exists for Office 365 Groups.

Classic Power BI workspaces are based on Office 365 Groups, and therefore already cohere to the O365 Groups Naming Policy (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/admin/create-groups/groups-naming-policy?view=o365-worldwide#power-bi).
The Power BI New Workspace Experience however is not integrated with O365 Groups, and allows users to freely chose any workspaces names without enforcing the O365 naming policy. We heavily invested in Azure AD P1 licenses, precisely to enforce a naming policy for Office 365 services (e.g. GRP-[department]-workspacename).

  6. Transfer ownership of workspace/report/ Dashboard when a user leaves organization

It’s happening to us that when removing a user from our organization all items included into his personal workspace are lost. I think there should be a kind of recycle bin that the administrator can use to recover those files.

  7. Dashboard Owner Lookup and Permission Notifications

For large organization with many apps in PowerBI, it can be difficult getting permissions to access the dashboards you need to.

After clicking a link, you are asked to send an access request and the dashboard owner gets a notification in the PBI interface. However, that notification request seems to be very easy to miss and not all dashboard owners are frequently using PBI. So the request for access goes unanswered.

There is no way for a dashboard end user to know who owns the dashboards they are requesting, so there is no way for them to email the owner…

  8. Export more than 30 pages to Power Point

Need to export my entire report and not only the first 30 pages. It is a juge waste of time to do differents reports, export them and regroup them into one new PPT. We absolutely need the possibility to export the entire report or, at least, choose the pages we want to export.

  9. Ability to delete unused workspaces as admin

I think it would be a good idea to add a possibility for admins to deleting unused workspaces. Because what happens if an employee leaves the company and has created workspaces in which an admin is not a member?

  10. how many scheduled refresh

To have a report showing how many scheduled refresh by capacities.
In that report, we shall have different granularity from 30 mins, 1 hour, 4 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours in time. In terms of the capcity level, we wish that we can see, dataset, workspace, capacity, 3 levels. Also the owner of the refresh is important.

The whole idea is because if we have too many schedules happening at the same time. The capacity may not be able to handle it. But we don't have such report, so we don't know how many is happening at a particular time.…

  11. Dataset Creator Tenant Setting

A Create workspaces setting exists in the Power BI Admin portal for defining which security groups of users are allowed to create the new app workspaces. While this setting alone is helpful, there should also be a tenant level setting for restricting which users are able to publish or configure a dataset.

If a user is not mapped to a security group assigned the permission to create a dataset, the user will receive an error when publishing the dataset or trying to take over or configure a dataset. The user will of course not be blocked when trying to publish…

  12. Keep group names in sync between Power BI and Office365

When a group that is a member of an application is renamed, application's access still shows old group name.
According to PBI product team, access list queries PBI Store instead of O365 store...

  13. Lock a report from being deleted in your workspace.

Add the ability for an admin of a workspace to lock certain reports, apps, datasets, etc. so that they cannot be deleted.

  14. Tracking the WorkSpace details

If we have a tracking record for each worksapce for the below points we can maintain the workspace in better manner. Since for one workspace have many admins, it is very difficult to identify who added and who removed a member or admin. including deleted the workspace.
    1. Workspace created date
    2. Owner for the Workspace
    3. Members when got added and who added
    4. Members when got removed and who removed
    5. Modification member to ADmin or Admin to Memeber and who modified it.

better have have this features to maintain the workspace in a good manner.

    Vinod…

  15. Hide datasets from published app

When an App is created/published, the reports AND datasets are visible to the end users. The users are able to analyze the datasets in Excel which is not necessarily desirable. This capability should be able to be controlled by the Admin.

  16. Navigation builder "Section level security"

The new navigation builder is awesome for published apps, but it would be great to control access/visibility of sections to certain users of the application.

We avoid creating multiple app workspaces for multiple groups because it has become too difficult to manage, especially when publishing the same report to multiple workspaces that are filtered slightly differently.

Essentially, if I am in a specific business line, I should only see my business line's "section" in the new navigation builder based on how the workspace admin sets the security.

  17. Scheduled Refresh

Need the following options to refresh the data:

    1. Have the ability to refresh specific tables from the Datasets.
-- We have a report that contains intraday, daily and MTD data. We only need to refresh the daily and MTD data once a day but the intraday reporting needs to be refreshed every 30 minutes.

    2. Have the ability to set the time with increments of up to a minute.
-- Currently, we only have a 30-minute increment to schedule a dataset refresh and this limits our ability to separate multiple dataset refresh at a given timeframe. For example, I…

  18. user as parameter

We have defined user access roles set up in our database. TO get this to work with PowerBI.com we need to be able to pass the user account or email address as a parameter while using DirectQuery.

  19. Editable 'DAYS UNTIL EXPIRED' when 'share report with current filters and slicers'

In Power BI Service, after sharing a report 'with current filters and slicers', go to 'Access' tab and at the bottom, there is a 'Manage shared report views'. By clicking this, it shows a share record with 'DAYS UNTIL EXPIRED'. However, it is not editable.

  20. Workspace setting Bypasses Row Level Security on a Dataset

    - Self-Serving reports and Dashboard. A user/member can build their own report.
    - Row Level Security to follow Rules and Roles. Problem Areas ( Existing Workspace )
    - When members were added to Workspace they bypass Row Level Security if workspace setting says Member can edit Workspace Content
    - When Workspace setting is limited to not edit. Users are unable access Dataset through PowerBI Desktop and PowerBI.com Problem Areas ( New Workspace )
    - New Workspace is still in Preview Mode. When we add a new member with Member Role to a dataset he is also treated as an owner…
